Jody Christensen Hired as First Employee of McMinnville Economic Development Partnership
August 21, 2006 - McMinnville, Oregon - The McMinnville Economic Development Partnership is pleased to announce that Jody Christensen has accepted an offer to serve as their new Economic Development Director. Christensen will start full time as of September 5, 2006. This is a new position that will allow the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership to more fully execute its mission of helping McMinnville businesses grow and attracting new businesses to our community.
Christensen comes to MEDP with a background in high-level sales execution, strategic marketing, hospitality and a passion for McMinnville. She has served as the Sales Operations Manager at Cuneo Cellars for the past two years, starting in 2002 as Tasting Room Manager. She was successful in growing the retail sales program at Cuneo over 60% in 2005. Christensen's prior experience includes freelance marketing and sales and local network television promotion and production. She has also been involved in the community by serving on the Yamhill Valley Visitor's Association Board, McMinnville Mayor's Charity Ball auction committee and as a volunteer for the Girls Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of America.

The McMinnville Economic Development Partnership is a public private partnership between the City of McMinnville, McMinnville Water and Light, McMinnville Industrial Promotions, the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce and area businesses. The partnership was formed in 2004 to serve as the key contact for economic development efforts in McMinnville. The partners agreed to provide the financial support to hire staff and begin an economic development program in 2006.
The McMinnville Economic Development Partnership office will be located at 417 NW Adams Street on the second floor of the Chamber building.
