Amerson Precision Sheet Metal (www.apsm.com) has announced the purchase of a building from McMinnville Industrial Promotions. The McMinnville based manufacturer has been leasing the facility, located at 1915 NE Colvin Court in the McMinnville Industrial Park, since 1984. This acquisition will make a total of five (5) buildings owned by the company.
Founded in 1979 by Al Amerson, Amerson Precision Sheet Metal fabricates and assembles specialty precision parts for the electronics, communications, telecommunications, computer, lighting, medical, automotive and aerospace industries. The recently acquired building will continue to house their powder coating and assembly operations.
“This an exciting time for Amerson,” stated McMinnville Industrial Promotions (MIP) President Doug Hurl. “Our goal is to support local companies and selling a building to this valued local company is most definitely a positive step.”
Since early 2005, the company has been busy expanding both their workforce and facility space. The company employs over 50 full time people in production, design, sales and marketing.
“The time is right for us,” said Mr. Amerson. “We are taking advantage of strategic opportunities both in new markets and in our own operations.”
In 2007, McMinnville Economic Development Partnership recognized Amerson Sheet Metal as Manufacturer of the Year.
