(McMinnville, OR) - Craftmark, Incorporated has entered into a contract to purchase 5 acres of the former Forest Grove Lumber (FGL) property and the Heatwave Radio Frequency Vacuum (RFV) kilns. The property and kilns are located in McMinnville, Oregon, and are now operational under the management of Denny Elmer, President of Craftmark. The manufacturing company will hire up to 12 new employees.

“With the technical oversight of one of the original operators of the RFV kilns, Craftmark is well prepared to bring the Tru-Dry® product back to market”, Denny Elmer remarked. “Craftmark's move to retain key original engineering expertise will bring the unique product back quickly and efficiently. Our company has acquired all rights to the Tru-Dry® trademarks and all patents to the Tru-Dry® technology.”
Established in 1999, Craftmark Inc. is an independently owned entity, located in McMinnville, Oregon. Craftmark, Inc. specializes in reclaimed wood and sells other lumber products throughout North America. Craftmark is a family owned business with a dedication to exceed customer's expectations.
To efficiently distribute the premium Tru-Dry® product, Craftmark has partnered with Capital Lumber Company who will exclusively manage the inventory and act as sales agent for Tru-Dry® timbers. Capital’s history in the lumber business, paired with a sales team which includes some former FGL employees knowledgeable about the Tru-Dry® product line, made it a strategic choice.
Capital’s Portland Operations Manager Jim McCluskey remarked, “This is a great opportunity for Capital and a perfect pairing of resources. The Tru-Dry® brand is well known and there has been a noticeable void in the timber business without it. Our local expertise and companywide resources are familiar with the activities that result in accelerated market acceptance of such products, and this is sure to prove successful.”
Capital Lumber Company is an independently owned distributor of specialty building materials serving the Western United States since 1948. Facilities include 10 regional distribution centers in 8 states, with corporate offices in Phoenix, AZ. “This development has been in the works for some time,” said Jody Christensen, Executive Director of the McMinnville Economic Development Partnership. “We are thrilled to see a portion of property and the kilns stay in local ownership. We look forward to helping more businesses locate to this great site and our area.”
