Three partners with extensive computer backgrounds have opened Primisys at 331 N.E. Baker St. in McMinnville.
Larry Cummings of Amity has more than 25 years of experience as a
programmer and software developer. Chris Rowe of McMinnville has 11
years of experience as a computer technician, six of them with
OnlineMac and the News-Register. Jeff Monahan of McMinnville was in
military computer security with the U.S. Air Force and also has worked
for OnlineMac in recent years.
Their primary focus is building and servicing custom computer networks
for businesses. They also provide computer security systems and
services.
Rowe said they can build virtual private networks or VPNs that connect
home and business through secure channels. It's as if they're in the
same building, he said.
They also can provide wireless business networks. And will service and upgrade Apple Macintoshes as well as PCs.
Their interest is in higher-end products, built to closely match
customer needs, and to last, Rowe said. They also offer used stock, he
said, and are authorized resellers of Hewlett-Packard equipment.
They offer around-the-clock technical support and competitive shop rates, he said.
Rowe's father, Marvin, is managing the 2,100-square-foot office. Cummings' wife, Chris, is keeping the books.
Basic business hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m Monday through Friday and 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. But if the light's on, there's probably a
technician working, Rowe said.
