Julie Miller is the BizConnect Coordinator for Yamhill County. BizConnect is a project of the Enterprise for Employment & Education through a U.S. Department of Labor grant to connect future workforce with career opportunities. BizConnect connects local businesses with high school students to provide career related learning opportunities to expose them to jobs available in Yamhill County. Julie provides marketing & recruitment of business partners, training and support for the database and liaison service to help high schools access these opportunities through BizConnect. BizConnect is building a pipeline of skilled workers for businesses to locate, stay and thrive in Yamhill County.

ABOUT JULIE
Julie brings experience in both business marketing and seventeen years in education, teaching both middle and high school and working at the district level in staff development. During her summers, she enjoyed being a hospitality and landscaping work supervisor for the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) program in Everett , WA . A favorite teaching assignment was Career and Technical Education where she taught Marketing and organized an award-winning DECA chapter in the Yakima Valley .
Julie earned her Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and her Master’s from the University of Wisconsin . Graduate work focused on promoting youth engagement through School to Career programming, Multiple Intelligence theory, and Positive Behavioral Support Initiatives. Julie is actively seeking business partnerships in a wide variety of industries.
